Blinking Neutral icon - Check Engine light

Can someone help? Today, my check engine light came on but before that the car tripped up and the neutral icon (P, R, N, D) starting blinking. :eek7: The car is driving with no sounds out of the ordinary. I recently had the axil and suspension fixed on the driver's side. Could this have any to do with this current issue? What's wrong with my child?
