Hey guys. Im the proud owner for a 1989 Civic Si with 85,000 miles on it. BUT, the kid I bought it from was suppose to put the stock steering wheel back on, but all he did was take off the aftermarket wheels, and he left the hub on that the aftermarket wheel bolts to. How does this thing come off? I can see the splines and it looks like it should just pull off, but it doesnt. Do I need some sort of puller or something? I really need the answer so I can get the car off the trailor. Thanks.

you might need to get a steering wheel puller.

I hope he didn't put his on like I put mines on, because if I have to take my aftermarket hub (Grant) off, I don't know how I would do that. So this info would be great to know. The Grant hub that I have fits SOOO tight that I cant get it off the splines. I forgot to line the thing up that stops the blinkers after turning. I need to back the hub out l little to line that thing up.

So you guys thing a steering wheel puller? I don't have the wheel itself, just the hub, that the wheel bolts too! This is a pain in my ass.

to get mine off I just take off the big nut that holds the hub in place, put the steering wheel back on the hub, and pull til it comes off.....can't get a good enough grip on the hub alone.....if you dont care about ruining the hub clamp some vice grips on it or something so you can get a better grip and than just pull on it till it comes off

Alright, thanks guys. The shop is letting me borrow a puller to get it off. I'll hit you back later to tell you how it worked.
