Hey i have been looking at some routes to go with my civic and one came up in my mind about turning my DX eng to an EX by taking the EX intake mani and throttle body. Would this change out work? I hear DX and EX have pretty much interchangable parts. I know i will have to get the throttle linkage to shift places. But will i beable to make this change and what all other stuff will be needed to make this happen. I am looking for higher performance aftermarket...not stock EX parts...wanted to clear that up.

Putting the EX intake manifold and thottle body on your DX isn't going to make your motor EX spec. Now is you swap the whole EX head onto the DX block thats a different story. Lots of people refer to this as a mini-me swap. Don't expect huge hp gains, but it will be a bit better than your stock DX motor.

Yes it will fit, and for all the trouble to get it on there you'll gain a whopping 5 horsepower.

Yep ricochet is right. I guess in my mind I was hoping you were talking about doing a head swap instead of wasting your time swapping intake maifolds and throttle bodies.

Once again i am miss under stood. I must be a shitty typer or somthing. I am not planning on swaping anthing....i am buying after market intake mani and tb. These parts help an EX breath and should do doubly for a DX eh? so it will work? which gasket should i use? EX injectors and fuel rail? will DX injector wires work?

Even if you are talking about swapping a performance intake manifold and thottle body meant for a EX onto a DX, it would be a waste of money in my opinion. For all the money you are going to spend on it, you might get like 10hp.

I've seen supercharged and boost DX's lose to B16 hatchs (of course, I've seen all motor "DX" beat swapped hatchs so...), no there is no hope for a DX.

Thx maxspeed so you say if i go skunk 2 EX mani BBK 62mm throttle body and some random ram air intake i can look at only 10hp? i am feeling little more like 15. but i am the learning little kid here so i understand ....now back to the technical aspect. will i have to use ex injectors and fuel rail? which gasket should i use?

Do a simple i/h/e and leave it alone until you can swap...its not worth it

all you guys tip your chin at 15hp .... thats all youll get with i/h/e and youll spend twice as much on that shit right? not trying to be a dick but thats all you get out of i/h/e eh? and its not like what i plan on doing is going to run over 600 or anything
