How much extra work would need to be done to fit a 3.0L Twin Turbo VR-4 motor into a 1999 GSX?

Let me ask you this? How much would it cost to make Kelly Osbourne look sexy? I think it might cost just as much.
In all seriousness, if you have access to a VR-4 engine, than you more than likely have access to the vr-4 in which it came with. IMO, i wouldn't mix the two. If the VR-4 engine is good enough that your willing to try an impossible swap, than i suggest just rolling in a vr-4.

doesnt make since, you brothers of ours have broken into the 9's and 8's i beleive in the 1/4 we have not, your engine's are more then good enough, wouldn't make any since to put a vr4 engine in a eclipse.

Said exactly like the truth:
you can run 8's on a 4G63, so why do you want a VR4 motor?
If you told someone you were going to do this in real life, they would laugh in your face.

Well said. ;) I love the 3kgts, but the 4g63/DSM is a well proven combo. Why try to reinvent the wheel just to get nothing but financial ruin in return. Chooose the car/motor you want, and stick with it. Be it 3kgt or DSM.

I love you guys. I just was curious and you answered all of my queries, lots of money. So just get a vr4 instead is what your saying?

Interesting interpretation, heh.
A GSX (or TSI) can produce as much power as any VR4 around. That's my suggestion.

unless you like the looks and stock power better, vr4's have 320hp and run the 1/4 in 13.5 stock. my point was the eclipse engine is everything you want, no need for the vr4 engine. also depends on what your tryna do.

What I'm trying to do is get rid of my mfugly RS and get a GSX. Like I said I've seen a few of the Galant VR-4 engines squeezed into a gsx and I was curious what it would take. ty

the galant vr4 motor is the exact same 4G63 6bolt that goes in eclipses and talons. the 3kgt motor install is completely pointless. it costs too much to do, its hard to maintain and very expensive to mod.

Galant VR-4 (USDM) is the same drivetrain as a 90-99 GSX. On top of that you have an RS with a 420a motor. You can pretty much forget about trying to stuff a 4g63 in there for a reasonable price. There was already a thread about putting a 4g63 in a N/T 2nd gen. The consensus was, sell your RS and just get one that's already 4g63'd. Save your self the headache.
