how to unplug solenoid

I have a 92 grand am 4 cylinder. My car is stalling when I come to a stop,fine in idle or in park. After reading this website, I have concluded that it is the Solenoid. Does anyone know how to disconnect it? I know its probably on the front of the transmission with possibly two wires coming out of it. is lower transmission?
