Kill story, cavy smoked a civic !

now im no american with a v8 mustang or wateva, just a teenager with parents car, last night i smoked my friend, he has a 94-95 civic, with 1.6, bone stock, just like my 2.2 cavy 96", now this guys car is lite, it doesnt weigh a ton and a half like my cavy, and he even did not get defeated by a 2001 S40 VOLVO .....

I lost against him once, but last night, i smoked em, got a good take off, no skidding, he was behind me all the time, raced till about 80 mph ... then had to slow down. I smoked his ass, and i know he took it bad, coz he is proud of his civic :D

i had a cars length about infront of him all the time ... but what makes it so great is, he always tells me how shit chevys are, and that the cavalier sux.... i fed his own ass to him last night !

his car has 125 HP, the 96 2.2 litres have 120 !

Then he just wasn't a good driver at all. Which is common, most guys who talk shit like that aren't great drivers.

Relatively, his engine is better than the non-ecotec 2.2s.

I've seen lots of civics get smoked by cavs and sunfires, that is until the get up into their high end then they take off. It's all relative sunfires and cavs have better acceleration but once a civic hits its top end it should be gone. But yeah ur right its all about the drivers. Most street racers are abunch of sissys who can't drive neway.

You just gotta remember its not all about those supposed horespower ratings, its how they set the car up.

wow i didn't know civics were that slow!! i've driven tons of cavaliers and they've got to be one of the slowest cars i've driven except for the 2.4's they have a bit of juice. i love to burn rice with the camaro it eats them up!!

im sorry to say, but my 90 Z24 before the turbo went on the 3.1 used to eat up the old 3rd gen Irocs with the 305( i own one, and i lvoe it, im not bashing camaros)and the z28's, i hand the v's camaros asses to them, and i forgot my point on wher i was going, so i will end this now

most early 80 camaro's are slow especially the 2.8's or 305(carb). theres no way a stock z24 will beat a stock 5.7 tpi. my motors out of an old chevy truck(4-bolt main) 383 stroker 280 deg cam/vortec heads, headers, 750 cfm holley/gm performance intake. 3.23posi . i havn't lost to any cavaliers yet!!

so what you saying ? after 80 mph the civic will overtake ? this guy said he did 120 in this civic.

yeah, you see alot of domestics smokin the imports at the track the new chevy and dodge engines are tearing up at the tracks.. dodge was the first to break into the 8 second range with a fwd car.. imports suck

does a 2.2 L 96 cav have 120 or 115 HP ?

This coming from a Civic driver, the (stock) engines suck for low end. Its takes a few, but once their wound up high enough, look out. The nice thing about the Civics is their get up and go at high engine speeds, nice thing I see about most of these Chevy's are the amount of torque they seem to produce in the low end. My friends 2002 Cavi will tear me up right off the line (stock) but he cant touch me once my car is wound up high enough.

I figured I should mention he has the Ecotec engine. Not sure if that makes any difference.
