how hard is it to turn a 93 civic coupe into a rwd?
i just started an online auction business to fund my car projects and i want to get a 93/94 coupe. i want to get a ls/vtec with a b20 and a b16 head. again, i want to know if it will be hard to switch from fwd to rwd. my uncle has a shop and will help me build my engine and convert it. i just want to know if it's possibly, and if it is, is it worth it?????

Just buy a damn rear whel drive if you want one, if you want a Civic, learn to deal with it being FWD. Do you realize how many peopl can't come to grips with a Civic being front wheel drive? You people should start a support group.

it would be near pointless to convert your civic to rwd. You would have to completly start from scratch by fabricating a new drivetrain since honda doesnt make any rwd cars besides the S2K. there was a mid engine rwd del sol that was built by some major tuning company in japan (i forget which one at the moment) which was belt driven, but i think they spent over four million yen (almost $40,000 US) on it.
so, in short, you would need to have alot of money and a team of skilled tuners to build a rwd civic. fwd isnt that bad now is it? thats the whole point of building hondas, youre turning an economy car into something that can beat most other cars on the road. you dont have to have rwd to achieve this...
my 2 cents

The Top Fuel Del Sol is the car your talking about. Shit, why make it RWD when you can use CRV components to make it AWD?

Why would you even want it to be rwd? I dont see an advantage anywhere... oh wait, besides you can do neat powerslides to impress the ladies by flooring it out of a turn. I (and everyone who seems to ride with me) LOVE the way my civic handle. I'de hate to ruin that by tryin to make it rwd.

are you serious? you obviously have never driven a RWD car before. once u drive a RWD car you will never go back to FWD again. RWD cars handle 10X better then FWD cars.... its a HUGE advantage. Advantage being on launches, handling, etc. only down side to RWD is winter weather and shit like that. Driving my dads 300zx and miata i know how its like RWD, and its nasty.
