i have stock rebuilt 92 ls (pistons rings head) b16 automatic tranny. i am in the market for a quick spooling turbo to run 6-12 psi on stock internals. what do you guys think...good idea...?

6 psi...doable
12 psi non IC'ed...goodbye auto tranny/engine
6psi should be good enough for you to work with. 12 psi you would need stronger internals to handle the boost.
I suggest if you want to go turbo, and want to get the most out of it. Drop the engine, and mod the internals, get that all set. Then send in a turbo and you can boost your heart out.

i would not run over 8 psi. we just finished a 99 ls auto teg for a customer. i did a drag manifold, tnetics TO4-E 54 trim, 2.5" down pipe, drag FMIC, apexi S-afc, RC 440cc injectors. the car runs great and spools nice. we will build a engine for this customer out of the car and then when it is done we will swap the built one into the car. since we were going to build an engine for him we went with the to4, for a stock engine i would go with a T3/T4 turbo. there are many variants of the t3/t4 turbos your local tuner shop should be able to help you properly size the turbo for your application, but don't forget what your future plans may be, and include them in your sizing.

I heard that this combo of tranny and motor is a good app for turbo since you can boost an ls up too 12 psi and, with the b16 auto tranny you get longer gears, also with an auto you dont get miss shifts and the turbo /engine last longer. is this true.

Pre-deationation will kill a motor... boost won't. Intercool it and put alcohol injection on it.

You should be an alcohol injection salesman! hah hah seriously man! I was just wondering though, why dont more people use alcohol injection?

boost will kill these hondas. the alcohol injection is a great idea! but even with no (0) detonation and perfect tuning the ring landings will still break off when exposed to boost for a period of time. just not strong enough and were not designed to handle it.
the auto tranny is great for going fast in a straight line. make no mistake though, you will tear it out and will need to be prepared to fix whatever breaks in it. my guess is the torque converter or the clutch packs will go. don't know yet, we will see on my customer's car. i will let you guys know when it does, what breaks, and what i did to fix it.

I just beleve in it that much. my car ran a 13.6 @104 MPH and all I did was put an alky kit on the car and my car ran a [email protected] MPH it allowed me to run that much more boost.

Here is a link. Ok let me re phrase my last post, the acohol directly did not help me. The alcohol just let me run more boost on pump gas. Without it, my car could run 15-16 PSI on 93. Now I can run 24 on pump gas with zero deationation.
