you should try to get an amp that pushes the sub to it's capacity. I've noticed in those brands you better get the same brand amp to be sure not to blow thew! Eg: I have a friend who had an Audiopipe bandpass enclosure loaded with 2 ten's. They were 400w RMS, 800w peak each, and he hooked them up to an Alpine amp (one that's fan-cooled) and they blew after 3 weeks. Alpine's watts are real watts. Audiopipe's watts are like Pyle, Pyramid and Legacy watts: fictional. So if your sub says 1000 watts peak, get it a 1000w peak amp in the same brand: it's the same watts ;)

Yea this is gonna be my first cheap setup, i basically want sound and "pretty" stuff but i dont have "pretty" stuff money so im gonna have to settle for the cheap stuff...i know what you mean with those watts though i have a rockford fosgate 200s running 2 400w rockford punch 12's and they're ringin...i want a bigger amp though, just to see how much more i can get out of my speakers...im desperately trying to sell that amp
