hey ya'all have a couple ?'tions about clutches. I have a 96 black maxima SE 5sp.
-Clutch currently is slipping when i step on the accelerater, and the engament point is almost all the way out on the clutch.. In need to replace the clutch and flywheel or resurface the flywheel. Which should i go for. and OEM clutch replacement or should i look into getting a ACT stage 1 or 2 clutch. Not planning on making to many other mods, some exhaust, intake and what not but not going to get an huge amount of horsepower. A friend of mind mentioned that unless i race with a staged clutch i will burn it out quicker then an OEM replacement. The car currently has 137,---miles on it and i am looking to drive it for a couple more years and would like to only have to replace the clutch this once.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
- anyone ever bleed their hydralic clutch system? i have looked at it in the owners manual but the only bleeder value i have found that looks like it connects to the hydralic system is located above the driver side shock tower. is this the bleeder? would it make a difference in current clutch to bleed it or basicly gotta replace it.
Thanks for you help.

you won't burn out an Aftermarket clutch faster. it'll probably last longer. my friend has a centerforce for his car and he's been using it for 2 years. he put a new flywheel in recently and checked the clutch and it looks brand new still. it probably lasts longer cuz the extra pucks are gonna make it so you're clutch slips significantly less. I'd get the ACT or centerforce over oem, it costs about the same.
can't really help with the 2nd part.

thanks for the advice BP2k2Max would you suggest going for the ACT stage 1 clutch or which one? Also should i just resurface the flywheel or consider gettting a new one.. Don't wanna spend a ton of money but want it to last and take some abuse.

this would be good:
http://www.stillen.com/Sportscars_detail.asp?cat=2&subcat=221&Brand=&id=27948&page=1 there's a 6 puck clutch for like $30 more but i wouldn't get it unless you're gonna do some other modifications

a light weight flywheel would let your engine rev quicker and the clutch would keep the rpms up by not slipping.

1st when you get the clutch get a fidanza flywheel to go with it, and install them at the same time; more effecient. try www.southwestautoworks.com dam good prices.

2nd. re bleed your clutch my clutch is also going out but im gonna uste it til my fidanza gets here. go to www.vqpower.com i THINK they have a link on bleeding your clutch.
i hope this helps. if anyone else has info please chime in.

I really like clutchnet. I am gonna do my clutch pretty soon and will be using their clutches. Actually, I am putting it in a RWD SR20 but it is the same clutch as the maxima clutch. I am going to be getting an experimental disc with the kit at a really good deal. maybe i can set it up for a couple more people or we could get a group buy started. If you are interested in teh experimaental disc it is a good price but you have to give feedback on the setup, it is part of the bargain. let me know if you are interested.
