Hey thanks for the help. I just kept searching the sites I was already on and I finally found a Celica that meets my needs, a 96 GT hatch.

I was wondering if there was a url someone could give me for the specs on this car. Its got the 2.2 L4 16V EFI. I just want to know the different applications for turbos and such. This car is going to be stripped inside and out and customized to the best of my wallets ability. What can anyone tell me about different turbos to help me choose one. I dont want a stock turbo. I want more power. lol I was thinking of 600 hp. I know it sounds like alot of work but I am going into this with that in mind. For example can anyone tell me how easily a Garret T3T4 turbo will bolt up to this engine? Keep in mind I intend on rebuilding the motor and head and such.

Once again any help is greatly appreciated.

lol well if you've got the money to build a 600hp turboed monster i think it would be best to just get an alltrack/gt4 depending on where you live... their engines already have turbos and are much easier to upgrade than the 2.2L... they are also awd while the gt is fwd... big difference there... and i highly doubt you will get 600hp out of a t3/t4 turbo.. the engine isnt capable of 1000hp on the street or anything like that.. the hights amount of hp i have heard of out of that turbo was in the top secret supra with 717hp... if thats your goal you better have someone that knows a lot about the engine and prepare to spend thousands... but ne wayz i g2g lol

nice choice on the 96 gt...if you want power...buy the st205 motor...3sgte...and use a 95 mr2 tranny...now you have 255hp to the wheel...build the whole motor and get a 20g or 25g turbo...and youll have your 600+hp...beware....the 20g and 25g turbos retail for over $800...and a good intercooler like say a 30x12x3 inch intercooler will run you a minimum of $250...plus whatever else youll be doing to the motor

Hey thanks guys for the help. First off i really had my mind set on that style but now that you mention it... Is southeastern Minnesota a good spot to find one. I mean of course I would look pretty far and if I find a good deal I'll jump on it. I still want something I can build and make completely custom. How much would you say it would cost to get a GT4? I already know its difficult to make a full GT4 conversion so if I go that route i want the real thing. The the turbo is affordable and so is the engine work and what not. Its the suspension, interior, and exterior mods im doing that will drain my wallet, I want the car to be faster then it looks and go ing full stages of the final product and the final product is going to be the car that takes me through some
championships. I mean I don't know why but 6th gen is the best looking celica to me. And there rare. Thanks again for the help and maybe i'll see you on the track.

That wont get you 255HP at the wheels but its a good start. Really if you want to make 600HP well first of all its gonna be close to impossible but if you REALLY wanted too hehe. If you made 400HP at the wheels (actually dynoed) id shit myself. First of all the compression even on the 3SGTE at 8.5:1 is WAY too high.

If you want 600HP, take a 5SFE engine (for the displacement) and strap on a 3SGE head, buy new 4032 superlight, super strong aluminum alloy pistons, and over 400HP WILL DEFINITELY brake the rods so yuou need some heavy duty billet or forged ones. For reciprocating weight reasons to make 600HP youd PROBABLY need to get Titanium ones at $500 a piece! Super srong titanium springs like 90-100lb, then youll need some titanium retainers and keepers just to hold em on. A COMPLTELY reworked cam designed for high boost turbo systems. Drop the compression to 8:1, oversize the valves and drop in some lighter ones. Alumnium flywheel, one HELL of a clutch plate assembly. MR2 Tranny with the LSD.

A big ass turbo running like 22lbs of boost and a big ass intercooler and all bottlenecks must be eliminated (like the crappy stock intake manifolds, exhaust system, throttle body etc.). THEN you might be looking at 600HP hehe :).

Okay lets say he had a 3SGE not the 3SGTE, what tranny would fit that? (please tell me something other than stock :frown: )
