New to AF.com and just got a '99 Cav 4dr 2.2

Hi there, I just bought my grandmother's 99 Cav 4 dr auto with 49k on it. I already have Z3 fenders, tach, Altezza euros, euro front corners, under carriage neons, Alpine deck, new gauge face, and an Injen cold air intake. All of this should be coming within the next week.

Now, my situation. Its not about the car, its about my friend, Ping Pong (yeah he's asian...) and hes damn 5 speed civic EX. He raced me and it was close but I had accel and better top end and was crawling away. He said he grinded (??) his gears from 4th to 5th and lost momentum. (whatever) and he was running his mouth after I said the list of stuff that I'm going to get. He was like you shouldn't get all that stuff, take it easy. But then he goes on and on about all the crap he's going to get, and it looks like I'm going to beat his ass to the ground at the drag strip in July.

But That list is not a bible, its just ideas, atm. And I just saw that turbo kit that comes with everything. I shit myself when I saw that. Maybe get soem ported and polished heads with racing valve springs. With all that, what speeds and 1/4s will I be looking at? This car is going to be a work in progress until I go back to school. And thats 10 months away, so this car is going to be pimped to shit :)

i have one question. why would you want to pimp a 4 door cavalier???put one of those big ass wings on the trunk i hear they add 30hp. don't forget the decals, neon lights under the car and clear tail lights. what are you gonna do with a 10,000 rpm tach?? the rev limiter cuts out at 6,500. you might want to get 2 brake rotors, i hear they pull if you only have one. assuming you could get power out of a 2.2 the tranny would explode if the cv-joints don't snap first. if you want to beat the ricer sell your cavalier and get a 5.7 tpi iroc. a stock iroc will kill almost any ricer. if you 4 grand into an iroc you could be pushing over 400hp and 400ft-lbs without any nitrus or turbo's. of course people who drive ricers don't care about performance they just talk about how fast their 16s car is and try to make it look fast. get rid of this piece of crap and get a real car!!!! then i'll tell you how to make it kill ricers.
