Optimal RELIABLE street build

I am considering purchasing an older s2000, but I was wondering what you guys considered an optimal street build. I am only looking for parts that will not affect ride quality, reliability, or severly impact gas mileage. I would want this car to be my daily driver, but wouldn't mind a little extra power.
