How bad is this situation?

Hi~

My truck, 1994 Honda Passport, 200,000 miles (around there), started running sluggish. I checked the ignition wires at the starter coils. One set was getting no spart at all. I noticed that one of the wires was corroded so I went and bought some new ones. When I pulled the first one off of the first spark plug...covered in oil! Second one on that same starter coil...covered in oil. No antifreeze, no other liquids...just oil. My guess is, that is the reason I'm not getting any spark. I did go out and buy a new coil just to see but that didn't make a differance.

I'm looking to buy a new truck TODAY. Is there a "quick fix" so that when I show up to the dealer to trade it in that the truck at least runs ok for just a few hours?

Next, and more importantly, am I safe driving this thing on 4 cylinders with the oil at the plugs? I need to drive about 30 minutes on the highway to the dealer that has the truck I'll be buying.

put i new valve cover gasket on it , the o-ring seals around the spark plug holes is what is leaking , if you are trading i wouldn't worry that much about it , just toss some new plugs in it right before you go , that might not work but your trading it in anyways

there is not really a excellent quick fix for that. whats prolly happening is the oil in the cumbustion chamber is fouling the plugs. just take some sandpaper to the tips until they are white re gap them you should be ok for a little while. as long as you dont run out of oil or something.

Dude, oil on the plugs either means blown piston rings, a blown head gasket, or if you're lucky a bad valve cover gasket ($10 for a new one).

i think he is talking about in the hole were the plug sits. in which case it is just the $10 gasket. no big deal. if it were the pistons/rings there wouldn't be oil on the plugs that you could see. there would, however, be oil all in the intake and on the filter. also it would be burning oil like crazy.
