chrome is very hard to make realistic in PS. im not really sure on how to do it, although one of the filters has a chrome effect.

Try making what you want chrome a really light gray, and mess with the contrast, and then go to the blending options (where the bevel and emboss is and such) and then add satin and mess with the settings.

an easier way to do it is to just desaturate it and then lighten it, but it only works with certain pictures and where you do it on the car

play around with "levels" and "curves"... very convincing if you do it right

i did it on one of my old chops and it went very realistically... ill post it later, im at school now. I made the pic white and then messed with the contrast and brightness and levels as some people said.

Yes, yes it is... This guy gave me another plug-in but I forgot what it was called... I'll get it from him.

I didn't say it was a good filter :naughty:
But it is one... I use it only when I want to make chrome side morrors for audi's.

In PS, I usually colorize the part to a light blue, then i strenghten the brightness and contrast a little

not 100% real looking but it gets the job done esp if you're doing more minor stuff like wheels... I don't have the orig but it started out black. The road salt on the car really came through too :p

Illracer, that's awesome... Wanna tell me about what settings you used? Also, did you make those rims chrome?
