There are all kinds of suppliers building performance and racing parts for that engine. A good place to start is High Performance Pontiac magazine - they have regular articles about the 3.8. They are working closely with the Grand Prix, but it is the same engine. Your engine is very upgradable and it can be made to put out plenty of HP, considering that it is a six. If I remember correctly, they are running a GP engine project and it has about 460hp, with torque over 500ft.lbs.

I just searched on Google for:
Firebird 3.8 engine performance "firebird 3.8"
and found these (plenty more):
http://www.projectvirus.com/mods.html
http://www.lmperformance.com/c/7/14.html
A lot depends on what you want to end up with and how much you are willing to spend to get there.
