Anyone ever changed out there Motor Mounts?

Easy? Hard? Takes forever? The rubber inside on the left side of the motor, next to the timing belt is broken through. :( And supposedly the other two are cracked so I gotta find them, but I can't seem to find anyone that has any for sale :(

To just change the mounts on a 1g is easy. Doing motor mount inserts is not much more work, but you have to have a shop press the old inserts out. A 2g is a PITA for the rear mount though.

Stock new mounts are about 30 each depending on which one it is, if I Remember correctly. For ~80 bucks you can get a whole set of solid inserts. Any junkyard that has dSMs should be able to get you some ond stockers for a decent price. Cheaper if you pull them yourself.

its not hard at all i have a 1g eclipse and it prob took me around an hour or so to do them all.my mounts were so bad the rubber was completly broken on all of them .

oh ok that's cool! now i gotta find em then :(

and if one is broken there's a good chance that more if not all are broken or near to being broken.

so may might want to want to check them all, saves time in the future :wink:

yea, driver side is broken, other 2 are cracked :(

Dont forget that all of the mounts appear to be "cracked"... They have relief cuts in them to allow movement in specific directions only. Not saying yours are ok and you dont know this, just a note for the general public.

hey. sorry this might seem like a dumb question but: are motor mount inserts the same as motor mounts. like the ones from prostreet online. the polyeurothane ones...i ask because my motor mounts are broken and was wondering if i could use these instead of the oem motor mounts....thanks

the passenger and driver sides are full replacement mounts

but the front and rear are inserts. aka they insert into the motor mount

how many motor mounts are in the 2g nt.
