There's a game called Gearhead Garage by Snap-on.
There is also an upgrade for it when you get bored with the older interface & cars. I don't know where to get it on the web. A friend of mine gave me a copy.

I've played Gearhead Garage but it doesn't go that far into detail. I mean it's fun and all but you can't do alot of stuff nor does it explain things you would want to know...

I can't quite recall what website it was, but I think it was Ferrari's website where you could build a V-12 engine. It was really hard though, considering you had to put it together YOURSELF, i.e. no hints or anything. But if you're a mechanic or are very skilled with engines, it wouldn't be that hard.
