40,000+ ohms on sparkplug wires?

I had posted before about thinking I messed up my engine ground on the valve cover. Well I have it grouned really good. I mean the damn thing is ground like no other, so it can't be the ground. I checked my wires for resistence in ohms and I was getting 40,000 ohms + on them? I dont remember what the resistence is suppose to be, but could this be my problem to why my crx sputters/stumbles on acceleration?
