I was just wondering, which one would win in a race, a Dodge SRT-4 manual stock, or a Hyundai Tiburon 4-cylinder manual stock?

dude... you're comparing a Turbo charged and intercooled performance monster to a tiburon.... I love my car but the SRT-4 would stomp the tiburon's gills in... On the bright side however, if you add a turbo and intercooler to the tib it'll beat a stock SRT-4

come on adam, this guy is learning and needs better explanations than that. beating a srt4 is not as easy as strapping a turbo kit on and racing, and i know you know that.
some stock srt4's actually dynoed higher numbers at the wheels than dodge rated them at the crank. it will take a lot of money and tuning to cover the 80+ horsepower gap with a turbo kit.

youll have to put in alot of money in a tib to gte number close to an srt-4....
remeber this was hyundai's first successful tiburon... and theyre still learning about producing a "sports" car

how are the early years not successfull?
there were plenty of 400whp+ 1st and 2nd gen tibs running around korea within two years of their release. i havent seen any GK tibs anywhere (whether they be I4 or v6) break the 400 mark.

my point is that the new engines have been out just as long as the old ones were before we started seeing high hp.

nisco, dude, i know you can understand what im trying to say.
i know the tib didnt have a v6 until the the 2003 model. my point is that the v6 engine has been out for a solid 2-3 years(it is the same one used in the santa fe, and yes, those crazy koreans try to tune the santa fe).
after 2-3 years of tuning the beta engine, they were making power near 400. the highest dyno i have ever seen from the v6 is 249. untill i see more IN A DYNO!!!!!, the 250 number will hold true IMO.
you are right about the popularity of the GK over the RD though. its a shame how many more people are attracted to a car when you throw the words "v6, infinity stereo, 17 inch wheels, and 6 speed tranny" in the mix.
