unsteady metro, struts or allignment?

when i get my metro up to highway speed... around 65, it becomes uneasy.. it kind of dances around and feels unsafe.. could it be a strut problem or allignment? balljoints are good and i put it on a lift and checked the hubs. nothing wiggles or moves. tried the bounce test for struts and it didn't keep bouncing after pushed... how can i make this car a more steady highway driver?

have you checked the steering rack, sounds like play in rack

well i had it up on a rack and grabbed each tire and wiggled it side to side and top and bottom, no play there.. is it just cuz its a small light car. the tires are very cupped. and not well balenced could that be it?

If your wheels are out of balance, they'll be bounce up and down, not really making contact with the road. If you are in need of new tires soon, I would get a 10mm wider tread if possible. Like, if you are using 145/60R12, get a 155/55r12, or 145/60r12. A little more meat on the tires is never a bad thing. But I would recemmond getting the wheels balanced before the vibration destroys your ball joints and wheel bearings.

I looked under the car and see no sway bar.. is a 1993 2 door hatchback supposed to have a sway bar or stablizer bar??

I never had a swaybar on my vert', and it handled really good up to 130mph, so that shouldn't be a problem. You can always get a swaybar from a 95+ metro, or a swift GT if you want it to have less body roll in turns.

how easy is it for everyone to push thier geo around.. test your struts push up and down of your geo.. i can rock my geo's world with ease.. i don't think its supposed to bounce that easily.. and going down the road at 55 i do quick turns on the steering wheel and the car is all over the place and i almost loose control.. i tried pushing down of my blazer and it wouldn't go anywhere.. can anyone else just about bounce thier geo on the ground by hand.. if not i think its my struts....

Yep. You can move them with ease. They have an 800lb max load capacity. If you want improved handling like that, you might want to invest in the front swaybar, and some stiffer springs. Maybe some Koni strut inserts.
