Who thinks an Eclipse is a chicks car?

I am thinkikng about buying a 97 black or blueish GS-T Eclipse and all my friends are ragging on me about it beinga girls car do you all agree or not becuase i personally think htere damn ncie and can pick up girls easily and have lots of potentioal--say 16 g turbo some nice non ricer exhaust intake headers brakes clutch u know all the fun stuff- so hit me back on what u think the best buy for the buck is or if u think it is or isnt a girls car and why- thanks for the input

I own a '97 Spyder GS, and i have one girl who says she will literally do "Anything" for my car. Morals and a concious forbid be of taking the offer, but nontheless, i am saying that yes, girls LOVE the car, and if you take into consideration the 3000gt, then yes, the eclipse is the female's car, as the 3000gt is the male's car. But who cares? If you care that deeply about it being a girls car, but your money towards a 3000gt, vr4 preferably.

You say you have one friend driving a mommy and daddy earned Toyota Matrix. One friend who drives a Hyundai Accent. And your third friend drives what basically is a Civic. I don't know why they make fun of you considering all 3 are driving what can be equally defined as girl cars under their own definitions.

Let them rag on you, most likely their jeolous. If not, race 'em, that will shut them all up... quick.

I get that comment all the time. I just show them my timeslip to let them know I've got thier "chick car" swingin... Just another thing non-DSMers like to throw in our faces once in a while, they cant be jealous without showing it... ;)

No one's ever told me mine is a chick's car, I think it looks amazing and nothing really girlish about it. And yes, girls LOVE the car, all my friends always want to show up in my car at parties and stuff so ignore ur friends, build it up and school them.

eclipses are pretty... if your friends want to call your car a chick's car...

they're also calling camaro's, firebirds, and mustangs (the v6's) chick cars. I see so many girls driving those around it's sickening.

And just for somethin else - I see more girls driving 3kgt's here than guys :P The only guy I've seen drive a 3kgt from here is a good friend of mine. Not saying it's a chick's car... but that the 3kgt has its fair share of chick drivers.

I think the 3g eclipse is more of a chicks car.
I just see more chicks in 3g than guys. Maybe its cause the guys know it sucks.

Actually I do believe there were some statistics published that said the average buyer of the 2g was something like a 22-26 year old female. But since 85% of the DSMs sold were NTs, I dont doubt that figure. ;) Had they come up with numbers for the other 15% (~10 gst, ~5% awd) I think the results would have been different. So I guess it depends on which eclipses we're really talking about.

i've been told that my car was a chick car at a traffic light, but then all the girls in my car did the talking.........and then their mouths were full.

As 95 gsxracer stated, most of the drivers of the 2g eclipse are female. However, they are 9 times out of 10 going to be the non-turbo version. The only thing that matters is if YOU like it, not what someone else thinks. YOU have to live with the decision. IMO, I would never be caught in a Matrix :2cents: .

i own a 1g eclipse and i would have to say i hardly ever see any girls driving the 1g so the 1g is a guys car but the 2g and 3g are all girls cars thats why i have a 1g and also i think the 1g's look much better anyway.

well i know of a few chic's cars that would love to tear your 1G a new one.;)

on a different note only one person has called my car a "chics" car, it was a friend of mine that rolls in a granny car('86 Grand National) so we can talk shit to each other all day long and it is all good. because we both have a lot of respect for each others car. other than that no one has ever called my car a "chic" car. and even if they did i would just tell them to f*ck off because i like, and i am the only person that has to like it.

i got a BJ with the top down driving around at 8 at night and 2 chics in a CIVIC [ultimate girls car] were watching, giggling the whole time [and if this ever happens to you, the appropriate thing is to smile as big as you can, at as many girls as possible]. speaking solely for myself, i get chicks looking at me all day. now, while i may like to think it entirely has to do with my devilishly handsome good looks, i must admit that my ride has a small part in this observation . but i haven't figured out if they want to drive the car, ride in the car, or ride me. so if somebody wants to call it a chick's car, well, it definitly draws their attention. my car is so fast it blows chick's cloths off [or at least it would seem that way]. how about your chick car [chick magnet would be more like it]?

I think the Eclipse can look like a guys car or a girls car, depending on what you do to them. At least the 3rd generation ones you mean. I don't think any of the 1st or 2nd gens look girly at all. I've seen some really severe looking 3rd gens, and some totally chicked out ones. Any of your friends would be lucky to trade up to a 97 Eclipse, so just get extremely manly tail lights to emphasize your owning them as you zoom into the distance.

My car looks nearly stock, and its still called a chick car. Usually after people hear the idle though, I dont hear those comments. I think its less about how the car looks and more about what the car is. No chick would ever drivemy car, and 99% of them wont even ride in it anymore.

I think the 1g body style looks like $h*t (im not dissing there speed im just stating looks) i like the 2g's better. The 3g is the only eclipse girl car

Anyone who says '1g are ugly' are obviously from a different generation. Kids today will probably hate older supras, rx7's, celicas.. etc, along with muscle cars.. with a few exceptions.

If you were born earlier, or can see past a car's body look. (what's that shiny radiator in the fascia?) then you can appreciate any car.

i guess you are married now, so the fact that chick's won't even ride in it only would apply to those of us left behind in the free world... i have always lived in a 'those who know, and those who don't know' kind of a world. those that don't know are constantly ID'ing themselves...

yeah sometimes i wish i would have bought a '92 Eagle instead of my '95 Eclipse. mainly because i would have paid for already. :rolleyes: but at the same time since i bought a '95 i can use DSMlink without changing ecu's, they are a damn sexy car. so there are deffinetly tradeoff's between the two, but either way is still have and AWD turbo car and thats all that really matters. ;)

Just ask 95 GSXracer and Chavez408 if an eclipse is a chic's car. We've already been through this.

I see chicks driving Civic's all the time.

I think all 4 bangers are girly even though I have an Eclipse but I see chicks driving almost anything so who cares.
