So lonely and sad

Lately I have been having the most stressful time of my life that I have ever experienced. I have a lot of shit going on between school and my hobbies. I've been pretty depressed lately...almost everyday, and I think its because I'm so lonely. I havn't had a serious girlfriend throughout my whole high school years so far (I am currently a Junior). All of friends seem to be settling down or already have found a person to really be with. I am a shy person to begin with, and I think that may have something to do with it.

Anyway, I've started talking to more girls and stuff. My friends tell me I need to stop being such a pussy and I agree with them. I liked this girl earlier this year but a whole bunch of shit happened that should not have. Things went to fast and my friends were dicks about it. I don't like her anymore, but I have been talking to this other girl that goes to another school. I see her often at her work, and I try to talk to her more and more. She seems down with it, but I'm afraid to ask for her number or tell her we should hang out some time. I really think I need to stop being a bitch. What do you guys think? Maybe if I get used hanging with the ladies I can finally find someone thats right for me.

Well, I had the same trouble as you man, but I got to no a few girls, and they introduced me to there friends, and thats how my relationships have all started, someone introduces me to someone else etc..

I just recently broke up with my g/f of one year, and the next day I had 4 girls already interested in me, which is weird, cause im not much of a ladies man, but I think I've settled down with a very hot young lady, she already after a week treats me better than my g/f of 1 year ever did.

Basically, u just gotta be the nicest guy you can be, but be yourself, and maybe you should just buck up a bit and ask her for her #, I no you may be sayin Naw i cant do that, but if it makes u feel any better, neither can I, Im the shy-est guy there is, and yea u can go ahead and call me a pussy but w/e, just be nice, and ask her if she wants to go out for coffee or sumthin after she gets off work someday..

Yea, you seriously smell like fish. But I can't talk really, since I have had the same problems recently. My problem is that I set my standards too high, and I don't put out. You're on the right track by talking to chicks and what not, but just make sure that you don't come across as too friendly. Otherwise girls will just want to be your friend, and nothing more. I guess I can see where you two are coming from. Being involved in a serious relationship at my age would mean less time to party and less time for friends. I know this won't seem to make much sense, but High School is horseshit. Nothing going on in High School will make any difference once you're out. Who you hung out with, who you dated, whatever; none of it makes any difference in the real world.

Finish your school work first (because that will matter later... ;)) and then get out of the house. Hang out with anyone whom you have fun with. Just have fun.

i am a sophmore in highschool and sometimes i wish i had a girlfriend, and then i go out and have a one stand and decide, hmm, one girl for a few months, or many girls for a few months, ill take the second choice. but when i do try to get a girlfriend, they somehow find out that i dont want to commit and say they just want to be friends. oh well, its highschool, party!!!!! my only love will be my 300zx im getting soon.

oh believe me when i say that it's WAAAY better than being pissed off all the time....from being depressed to punching holes in the walls from being overly angry from mind games...i've probably shaved a couple of years off my life from that stress.....and i still wonder what my life would have been like had i been single for longer...:rolleyes:

I understand where you're coming from, Ryan. I've been feeling that sad and empty feeling over the past year too. I was pretty shy in high school and didn't really open up until the end of my senior year. Since I graduated, life's been a real up and down roller coaster. You just gotta keep going man. In the mean time, ask that girl for her number man!
