i own a 90 c1500 . my problem with my truck is that when i go to start it ever time it takes a long time to turn over and start i think it might have something to do with the fuel system anyone got any ideas?

might be the fuel pump relay. do you hear the pump pressurize when the key is turned to on? it should make a buzzing sound for about 2 seconds

not went out and checked it i can hear the buzzing when i turn the key

the fuel pump relay is located on the firewall. the relay is used to initially pressurize the system, once oil pressure builds up the pump circuit runs through the oil pressure switch.

what else could it be i dont think it is the relay sounds fine to me

pressure leaking back through the pump when it's shut off, leaking pressure regulator are the most likely possibilities.

It could be that your battery is getting weak. A starter will put such a draw on your battery that it will not have enough left to fire the ignition.
Electronic ignition requires quite a bit of voltage to operate. If your battery is old or even if it's not, you may consider having it checked or replaced.
