Latest build - LeMans Sunset Skyline 350GT Coupe

Here's my take on Fujimi's new Skyline 350GT coupe. I wanted a simple project, it was for the most part except for my mistakes...thumbprint in the clear, spilling a bottle of black paint that spattered on the body and got all over one wheel/tire...luckily it came off w/a fast trip to wash it off w/water. Sheesh. :grinno: Oh, and the pillars aren't real strong, they'll bend easily if you bear down while polishing the paint. Glad the paint bottle mishap splattered on well-polished paint...I had to re-clear the car when my thumbprint graced the hood... :rolleyes: At least w/this much clear, the final finish is nice and I didn't rub through to any of the color beneath. Now I get to see if the clear doesn't crack over time...it already has stress lines where the pillars are weak....but they're not very visible and this certainly isn't a contest winner.

Paint is a mixture of House of Kolor Gamma Gold (roughly 30%) with Bittersweet Pearl (70%) to give an "eyeball engineered" look of LeMans Sunset used on the 350Z. I dare say the color looks better on this than the Z. Can't wait to get the Nismo, can't decide on a color for it. I may do my 350Z in this color, with one serious twist (more later).

Thanks! I did have time to win a GT3 championship round today, and unlocked a seriously sweet blue GT40...it doesn't qualify well, but it manages to win races handily. Sweetest sounding car I've got on PS2. :smokin:

Thanks for all the comments! I grew tired of seeing 350Z's in this color, but the 350GT/G35 rocks in this color! Wonder why you can't get it on the 1:1 Infiniti?

p9o1r1sche, yes it is OOB. Though I am tempted to drill some holes in the lower fascia for some MV lenses...driving lights would look cool in the outer edges of those grille openings.

Well, the Skyline is badged as a Nissan, Infiniti calls it Liquid Copper. This is a Skyline, not an Infiniti, and I'm not an official kit rivet counter. :evillol: :icon16: :iceslolan

I'm just happy that the car looks so fine in this color. :smokin: My last kit, the Porsche Cabriolet in light blue pearl, talk about boring.... :rolleyes:
