some of you are going to say i should have posted this in the street racing forum but i wanted all u civ guys to read this. my brother has a 93civ hb dx and raced a 92civ hb si about 3 weeks ago and got his ass handed to him. but yesterday we raced a 2000 civ coupe ex2door(same as civ hb si engine d16z6, just incase very litlle of u didnt know) they both had same mods, just intake&exhaust.
we went up to the highway and caught a light they both launched great and were even through 1st and right when they both shifted to 2nd the ex jumped on us a little(half a car) and then we were going about the same speed tell we hit 3rd and then the dx started cetchin him and were even at the end of 3rd then the dx started gaining in 4th we stoped at 110 and won by 3 cars. i got it all on film we raced 3 times, same thing happened every time. what i thinks crazy about it is the fact that the ex was inhead the first 3 gears. i thought sence its heavier with more hp that we would be inhead the first few gears and that the ex would cetch up and pass us. so basically i thought the exact opposite would happen. i guess thats what 170lbs. heavier than the hatch will do.(be slower!!)

i think racing slow cars is still fun as long is its a close race.

Street racing is a bad idea, but regardless, there's one ultra-easy answer to why this happened. The drivers. I'd beat a lot of cars I shouldn't have in the legal 1/8th mile drags we have here... and lost to some I shouldn't. Racing, wherever it may be, is only so much the car, and more the driver. Since I started going to the tracks, I've only improved so much so that with only a couple breathing mods, and the know-how, I was able to keep up with a mustang gt up on a visit to orange.

Case-in-point, the driver is what counts.
