buddy of mine once had this fiber-glass kit, it was sheets of fibeglass (looked like thin white fabric) and a special glue; you coud keep adding layers to make it as thick as you'd want, then finish the surface with , like bondo, sand, prime, paint...
any web links on the topic?

thnx

haha.. wow you really are a newb. man you need to search. there are a few threads here on making your own kit and if you want, check out the fabrication sections on www.carsound.com and www.termpro.com

i'm in the process of fabricating front and rear lips for my 6g civic.

oh and btw, its not a "glue" its polyester resin, and the "thin white fabric" is either fiberglass cloth or mat. i hope he used mat because cloth is WAYYYYY to thin to be using for a body kit.

i don't know about creating your own from scratch, but people take body kits built for other cars and make them custom fit on theirs. For example a bmw side skirt on a civic. you can go to junkyard for parts.

ha ha yes yes....but hey don't let them get you discouraged -- ground effect kits can be made, and can look good.. if DIY stuff is your thing( as i know it is mine) than just have at it, who cares what ppl say-its all about the experience and skills you gain...you might have to scrap a few projects along the way but the skills will be valuable.. i'm half way done with fabricating a rear lip for my 6gen civic.. you can kinda see it in these pics(note: this pics were taken to show another DIY project of mine-my red/silver tails) but i think its coming a long pretty nice. the finished kit will be very simple and clean-nothin flashy-but the skills/techniques i learn will be much more valuable than the actual lip.

OK i had an idea about building a trunk lid for my crx. Came across a a company "Erebuni" that made the style i want, but they dont make it anymore. The style is changing from a "fastback" style rear window to a drop off rear window like an MR2. If anyone knows a company that makes this style let me know, if not how should i go about making it. I figure i could break my glass and there i already have a frame to build to, but it would have to be made of sheet metal and i can weld it all together. I would like to make it out of FG so i can reduce weight also. Hit me up!
