My friend has the loaded bandpass box deal...they sell the ported Bandpass with the 3 10"s inside. Anyway...he wants to sell it to me for $225-$250. I heard it on a Legacy 1600 watt amp and it sounds damn nice in a Ranger, but Im not sure if those are quality subs or not. He also said he would trade his 2001 model Pioneer deck (around $200) and those subs for my brother Silver flipdown Pioneer deck ($400 or so), because it has some problems right now. What do you think?

I'd keep your stuff and get it fixed. those subs are POS... made by audiobahn, the low end of their stuff. Audiobahn isn't bad, but it isn't great quality

What about SPL brand subs? The SPLW 15"s can handle over 2000 watts and its only $219. Seems kinda cheap for that power so Im wondering if theyre not very good.

look, if your into stuff just getting loud then go with the stuff that says 2000 watts and 1500watts, but i garuntee you that one day you will hear an actual high end sub then want that. so, i'll save you some time and say that you get what you pay for(usually), and 300 watts coming from a tru or arc amp will sound a hell of a lot better than 1600watts coming from a legacy amp.
P.S.that legacy amp is not doing anywhere near 1600 watts, i saw some real specs on a legacy 2400 watt amp and it put out somethin like 342 watts, it was quite humerous.......
maybe i'll get a legacy 1200 watt amp to run my front stage

I know...I heard that too. We were running those 3 10s with a 222 watt Xlod amp and this Legacy is hardly better, if any. It makes them hit lower a little bit and thats it cause you can tweak the hpf and lpf and the boost. I figured those subs werent too great though. I thought I heard before that MA Audio was a good brand but its on websites with those Legacy/Pyle/Pyramid brands. Whats the deal with that?

ma audio isn't very good either, but its better than legacy and that stuff. theres better for the money, for 250$ you could get much much better subs

I planned on getting Type R's or using my bros MTX 8000 15"s anyway. Infinity Kappa 10's sound nice though too.

Out of those three, the type Rs are the best IMO.
