engine rebuild

I was just wondering if anyone in here who lives in NC or southern VA has rebuilt their engine themself... if so would someone be willing to help me rebuild mine, because i really want to learn more about the rotary engine, but i don't wanna undergo rebuilding my engine when i have never done it before. I really don't wanna spend the money for someone around where i live to do it because i have no rotary specialists around where i live. Thanks

I don't live near you and have no expierence, but I do like RX-7s and I know a bit about the roatary engine.


first off, you have to rotars, each conceals three chambers, so its like a 6 clnder engine, but better! If I am remebering right the roatary enigne works like a 2 stroke. So in a sense you've practically have 12 cylnder engine, but roatary, plus that, most of them are turbos, zoom zoom, its not that fastest car but it is a cool idea.


rebuilding? I tried to get into an engien rebuilding class, one guy said he was going to do a mazda roatary, he told the guy to to leave or build a 350. Virtually, nothing to replace, buy the roatars, okay, then you might need to grind out the insides, but what he showed us was really clean (he had one ripped out of a car) and bassically, there isn't much to do, very few moving parts as well which is nice. I love the RX-7, I think someday when I'm all grown up I'll buy my son and RX-8 for his birthday.

the hardest part is taking out the engine and putting it back in, but while its out you should have someone port it for you, even if its ust a street port, it will give you a little bit more from the engine for like 200 bucks maybe 300 tops
