Hi everyone!
This morning when I started my vehicle, it had shifted, by itself, into
4 lo...I was able to get it back into 2 hi...
This also happened one time before, when I was going slowly, it shifted into 4 hi by itself.
I just had the hoses replaced and it has been running just fine until these 'phantom' switches...
Is it a switch problem or a transmission problem??
Thanks so much for any assistance!!
Naomi

theres a vacuum switch in the tranfer case that goes bad it costs about $17.00 its a pain to get at but an easy fix. also check your vacuum lines going to the switch first

there is also a box behind the dash about where the cigarette lighter is that has a 32 wire connector comin in from the wiring harness and 7 of them go down to the transmission right in front of the transfer case (we had to fix a 98 blazer at tradeschool that wouldnt shift at all) test all the wires goin to the transmission and test the switch and if they pass then its the box....its a silver box held on by 2 screws...cant miss it
