Well I just painted a car in duplicolor jade green and its not shiny enough for me. So is it ok to use tamiya clear or should I go down to Autozone and get some duplicolor clear? Thanks

btw I think the duplicolor paint is enamel

You could use Tamiya over Duplicolor (at least the type we have in Australia, which is lacquer). But to be on the safe side it is best to stick to the one type as the kid says.

If you do wish to use Tamiya, you'll need to test on some scrap first. If that goes okay, then allow the Duplicolor to completely dry and start off with very, very light layers of Tamiya clear. Don't use thick layers, or at least not until you have built up enough of a barrier.

I did a 1/43 Bentley with that color and used the Duplicolor clear and it worked great. I have used Duplicolor Clear on decal sheets to. It is a very good quality clear and rubs out nicely. The Jade Green is a laquer. I reccomend you use the Duplicolor clear over their paints and Tamiya over Tamiya paints.

I use tamiya and duplicolor with eachother all the time, but I'm sure to give each of them a few days to dry and it all seems to work out alright for me.
