Hi, I'm new to this forum.
Anyway, I wanted to know what is the absolute loudest muffler one can buy (regardless of legality issues, since you can always use a muffler silencer)? I have a 2003 Mitubishi Lancer, and have already added a whole lot of exterior modifications, and wanted to start the engine modifications from the exhaust/ muffler up. Please note that when I mean the "loudest muffler", I mean what is the "loudest" tested muffler (not personal opinion), I could use. Also, in order to get an extremely loud sound, do I have to change the whole exhaust system or just change the muffler? Thanks!

hmmmm.....depending on what lancer you have will cange the Db's because the oz rally grocery getter will be considerably louder than a Evos. Either way i'm pretty sure that HKS's hiper mufflers are one of or the loudest. I don't know why you want it so loud, you should really keep performance in mind. But to get the most out of your lancer's exhaust system, install a header, get a test pipe to replace the cat,and have a custom exhaust done with no resonators and a HKS hiper muffler. That would make it LOUD, but what I reccomend is a HKS Exhaust sysem from the cat back but with everything else i previously said. This will give a loud but clean sounding exhaust note because the exhaust is dyno tested for the car and you will attain a higher performance than any muffler shop could do.
