i have a 94' civic. 5 speed vtec. after driving for about a minute the check engine light comes on. i dont think anything is wrong w/ the car because its been like this for 2 years lol. is there anyway to just turn the light off? like pull a fuse or something? i just dont want it in my face anymore. and i have no money to fix it if something is wrong.

umm i would recommend finding out what the cel is for before making any decisions

and if youre really serious about just shutting it off, disconnect the battery for a few minutes.. if it keeps coming back, its probably not something you should ignore

its not a hooked up car or anything. its just a beat up old civic that i use as a station car. i just was wondering if it was as simple as pulling a fuse to turn it off.

go to autozone or somewhere like that...they will check it for free and prolly clear it for you.... but if its a problem, it willl come back on sooner or later........

also isnt there a way to turn it off temporarily by holding down the odometer button and then putting the key in the ignition and turning the car on and start

your best bet is removing the bulb for the light OR getting a wiring schematic and findin the wire for the check engine light and SNIP problem solved, The local honda dealer would do it for ya but then why not just FIX the car
