Ok I have three questions. I am building a D series block for turbo. So here are the questions.
1) I can get a good A6 block for $50. It has no crank. I looked around and can't find a crank for it. Is this a good deal? Also does anyone have a crank?
2) I just ordered a log style mani, T28 turbo, and T28 DP flange. I have a Tyrus FMIC. Does anyone who is running turbo know what bends I need for IC/charge pipes? The local shop here want's $400 for piping and will take them a week to get it on. I think I can do it cheaper.
3) I was looking into getting an LSD. I found a bunch that were $800-1200. Then I cam accross the Phantom Grip kit for $3** some odd $'s. What's the deal on that?

1 find a crank in junkyard or check classifeds. Maybe look at race shops see if you can get one from them all knife edged and what no
2 i think you can get it cheaper also
3 phatom grip is a waste not a true LSD save up for a quife.

Phantom Grip is alright if you are planning on going in a straight line. My friend installed one in about 2 hours and had it on the car. B16 turbo and it works really well at the strip. Due to its design I can't see how it would be good for turns and what not.. so it depends on what you are building the car for and what you plan on using the LSD for. Strip or Track ?

ive seen the results of the phantom grip over 2500 miles driving on the street....it wore out the diff gears and ended up barley able to move the car.
about the crank i might have one off a 90 a6, depends if were gonna rebuild it or not.
check out homemadeturbo.com about the pipes, they should be able to help you on that part.
