I am a visitor from the Camaro forum. Recently I've learn of dropping one of our beloved LT1s or LS1s or any other chevy 350 into an RX7. I'm just wondering how you guys feel about that???

I hate that idea. I hat to see that such a great engine is being riped out in place of a huge one. But everyone to there own.

i dont' like that idea much either, it really screws with the weight distribution, and the car really turns into a straight line racer... not what it was designed to do at all. however, with the 350, the RX has a better power to weight ratio than a viper, so that's cool i guess.... but i'd rather have it be a bad ass autocross car than a drag car.... 1 dimensional racing is kinda boring to me...

I know a guy who works at a shop near where I live who has done that exactly. While my own opinion is that he's sacrificed potential and the uniquness value of the car, he's ecstatic about it and I'm not gonna bitch and moan about something that makes him so happy just because I'd a done it differently. His V8'7 is well. . . really fast, and hes maintained the weight ratio of the car so its handling is stellar.
He put it this way (not my words please dont flame me) "Now I have the best of both worlds"

If you do, just remember to remove the "RX-7" badges located anywhere on your car.

I think you should go ahead and drop the 350 in, and after you tear the 13b out send it to me, i need one.

The 350 RX-7s are an interesting idea, and they dont really add weight. I wouldnt PERSONALLY do it, but I dont bash those that do.
