cruise control on 1992 S-10

I am by no means a mechanic!
A couple of years ago, I had some brake problems on my 92 chevy s-10 (tahoe) v-6 4.3L. My mechanic brother-in-law recommended that I change the vacuum booster. With his assistance, I did just that, and my brakes worked fine after that.
But around that same time, I noticed that my cruise control had stopped working. That was a couple of years ago. I still have no cruise. But it wasn't until recently that someone was telling me that the cruise control and vacuum "system" are related. I didn't know that!
Can anyone give additional info on this? What could I do to fix my cruise control, and get it working again, as it concerns the vacuum booster? Or could it be another kind of problem altogether?

Yes this is true most cruise control systems do run from vacuum . I found this out on my Honda. Search for an open line or a hissing under your hood with the engine on. See what you find ...

I dont have my cruise diagram in front of me, but suffice to say, the fill valve on the cruise servo is fed from a line off the motor - trace this and make sure there is 15in or more at idle. the larger vacuum line from the cruise is the purge line and it goes into the car....at the brake pedal there is a set of switches that do up to 3 things:
1 electrical switch that tells the ECM to unlock the torque converter if so equipped.
1 electrical switch that turns on the brake lights
1 vacuum switch that dumps the line vacumm by letting in air.
the first electrical switch also sends a signal to the cruise module to no longer open the fill valve.
Im betting items 1 and 3 or both are no longer connected to the brake pedal.....be a good time to treace this out cause if you have the auto tranny and the electrical switch is off, you are torching the tranny by not allowing it to lock up.

But I will print this out and show it to my brother-in-law, and see if we can come up with a solution. Also, I am pretty familiar with the underside of my dash (fuses, and having changed a heater core once) and I've never seen the 3 switches you are talking about around the brake pedal. Did you mean in the cab, or under the hood, in concerns to being around the brake pedal?

just follow the brake pedal up and you will find something clipped near it that activates then the pedal is pushed

just follow the brake pedal up and you will find something clipped near it that activates then the pedal is pushed

And, I can not find the fuse for cruise?
Do you know which fuse to check?
