acceleration/gas pedal problem? - 85 Blazer

As I was driving my blazer yesterday, things were going fine. Then, after stopping at a store, I started it up and began pulling out. All of a sudden, there was little or no power whatsoever. I'd step on the gas, damn near flooring it, and I could only go about 15-20 mph at the max.

A couple minutes later, I was stopped at an intersection and the car just died on me. I tried several times to get it started again. It would start up, but immediately die out again.

The weird thing is, I just went to start it today, about 20 minutes ago, and it started up just fine! I let it run for a few minutes and nothing bad happened. However, I'm not quite sure what the problem is exactly so I didn't attempt to move the car.

I talked to a couple people I know about this. My girlfriend suggested it may be a problem with the gas pedal. This could very well be true, maybe someone who has experienced this type of problem here can give me more specifics. Basically what I'd like to know is, is this going to be an expensive fix? I just pumped $450 into some repairs on this thing 2 weeks ago and am not too thrilled about dropping any more big money on this fossil.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In the beginning it sounded like it could be a gas pedal problem... but i'm not so sure. A number of things could be wrong with it if it's doing that, especially if it was dying on you.
