I am looking for information regarding a swap from my '92 prelude S (SOHC non-vtec) to the H22A. I need stuff like a parts list, wiring guide, and any helpfull information on where to start and where to buy, what to buy etc... Please give any info you got!

Try a search through these forums. A h23a -> h22a isn't all that different from f22a -> h22a.

i just did the f22a to h22a swap last month....there really is little difference.the right motor mount might have to modified.mine did.definitely change your clutch if youre using the same tranny.might have to modify your powersteering mount.if youre doing a h22a obd2 swap like i did.definitely get new rotors and brakes.remember this is a more powerful motor.new headers and exhaust is always a plus....hit me back if you need mo info......did you get the motor yet???

I have not got the motor yet, trying to find the best deal with the complete motor. What ecu did you use? What kind of modification did the motor mount and ps/pump take? Clutch wise, what should I go with? Brakes and rotors will be no prob. How hard was the wiring?

Thanks

since everyone was talking about it i won't post a new subject to talk about the same one. I have just gotten finished swapping my 93 h23a for a 01 h22a and had a good mechanic that was a family friend to it for me. Problem is he's not familiar w/ hondas but still did swap for cheap and everything is working well. Engine runs great only problem is he could not figure out a way to use 01 wiring harness to hook up w/ my 93 so my instrument panel would light up. Instead of using ecu off of 01 he kept my 93 ecu.

so now to the point....

Vtec does not kick in and i think it is b/c my ecu is not vtec compatible...am i right? next question...how do i get vtec to work and am i hurting the engine driving it w/ out vtec working

You need an OBDI p13 ECU from a Prelude VTEC. It must be OBDI, and it must be for whichever transmission you have (5sp, Auto). Depending or not whether you had VTEC prewired or not, you may have to run a few wires from the engine to the ECU. If you do a search, I had a brief writeup detailing the swap.

The 01 ECU you had was OBDII.
