G-TECH (not v-tec)

Does anybody in here have a gtech? Have you ever used one? how accurate are they? I used one of my friends in my 2000 silverado 6.0 with a few mods and i got 13.7 @ 100 mph. I also used it in my 98 mustang (V6) and got a 14.65 @ 95mph. The road was straight with no incline or decline. The GTECH site claims it is more accurate then the track. What have you saw on this and then at the track?

Also dont flame me to bad. What is a VTEC? i am ignorant when it comes to these cars. You guys have seemed to have been taking it easy on udeducated guys lately.

and the gtech seems to be off if your running 14.6's with a stock mustang v6

Vtec uses both variable timing and variable lift. It basically has two camshaft lobes one for low RPM and one for high.


and i agree 14.6 for a V6 stang sounds a bit too fast

I have found stock times to be 15.5 to 16.1. but my car isnt completely stock. i have headers flowmasters K&N FIPK and a chip (kind of, hard to explain) its a 5 speed stick and i run michelin pilots so i get a very good launch.

No.

Yeah man, theres no way that your G-Tech is right cause even with a couple of bolt-ons you'd run maybe mid 15's.

g tech performance meters are very accurate, it shows how fast your car is without a reaction time that u would have at the track. i run a 15.0 at the track and get consitance 14.90-14.95 with the g tech also i run my1/4 mph is at 92 at the track and on the gtech.
