I live on the border between hick-town-usa and minneapolis MN, and
I'm sick of the dumb kids and there mustanges or hopped up trucks, and yuppies with there porche's 944s or slk230s dissing the civic.
I all ways thought slk230s where sweat cars, one day I drove one, and realised that there fucking heavy, uncomforable, and the tranny is sloppy as fuck. that day I decided that I could build better.
Ok, heres what I got to work with...
94 del sol si
d16z6-with shortram intake, headers, fly wheel, racing clucht,plugs, wires, straight pipe to tanible. lowered, rims. bought of ebay for 4000$ while fucked up, now has 160k, is in storage waiting for minor body work and re-paint.
91 crx hf
stock 160k.

I deliver pizzas... so I bought the hf, gets great gas mileage, and is gears super tall... I love it cruising at 70mph and like 2100rpm. I want something that is very driveable at low rpms, but can take out a mustang and a slk every now and again. and maybe go to the track in the future.
hear are my Ideas, I'm looking for some feed back. Heres what I want to avoid, b18 - b16 swaps, and turbos... I hate turbo lag. don't want to do a swap just to bring me upto par,
CRX- d15b (with 3 stage vtec) in the crx, maybe some exhuast work, a 75 (dry )shot of NOS brand n02, hf transmision, with flywheel, clutch, headers, and short shifter of the del sol. do somthing with the del sol later.
DEL SOL- h22 type-s swap, upgrade the suspension, cf hood, and anthing else I could do to take weight off the front and make it more driveable.
-or-
b20 block, b16 head, and ls tranny with aftermarket lsds.
then add a low psi sc later if it will fit. or maybe n02.
-put the d16 setup in the crx.
I like tall transmisions, and I like gas mileage. crx swap sounds cheaper, faster, easyer, and funner. but the del sol just looks so bad ass, and I would just love to make it eat slk's all day.
was also thinking about just selling mydel sol and buying 96-97 with b16 to use as the base for a crvtec.
what do I need, to acomplish this task, what are the hidden costs. I've got time, a few mechanics (who work for beer),beer, and a garage at my disposal.

take the delsol and do a h22 or h23 swap or even a ls and turbo it and tune it proplerly and you can get an easy 230+whp with about 12psi of boost..

keep the CRX, sell the Del Sol. do a LS/VTEC swap. which is a B18A block and a B16, B18, or B17 head. since u said u wanna stay away from forced induction. it is possible to get 200 whp by goin all-motor.

nooooooooo, just sell both cars and buy a faster one, like a lude, or something else, or put the h22 in the del sol

the prelude won't be nearly as fast as the del sol with h22 would be. i say just get an h22 type s, install a vtec controller and sit it for like 4500 - 5000 rpms. i think that should get you to about 210-220 at the crank. then do whatever......

i think aside from the cam changeover theres a throttle body stage....im not quite sure what it is though.

3 stage vtec (sorry not stage 3) is bassicaly vtec-E (12v mode) - tuned (16v mode)- then Sohc vech (16v mode with wild intake valve timings)

3 stage vtec was/is only availible on the jdm d15b, it has 2 vtec selanoids. a local shop said "they can find anything jdm" and that
it shouln't be to expensive, ~650$ for the engine w\ trans. and thats
just one shop, I'm going to shop around...
I really like the idea of my hf floating around getting 40-50 mpg like it does now... and its peppy now (60hp, 92lb trq all at the low end). then
going balls to the wall after vtec and No2. where talking 70 hp, to like 200 in seconds...

run a turbo on the del sol... u can put about 10psi on stock d16 with proper tuning...
