HELP a4 questions before i buy one....

hey guys im a newb so if u would help that would b great. and sorry i couldnt find anything in my searches....so...

what is quattro?

and i am lookin at this 2001 A4 5 speed, metallic blue, black leather, 1.8turbo, sunroof, etc is that at good buy for $14,990?

also can u swap a S4 motor into the A4?

For the a4, sounds like a good price to me, but would depend on how many miles it has and if the scheduled maintenence work has been done on it.
Personally, I love my a4. It has been a great car! Mines a 98 and I have had it for a little over a year.

As for the s4 motor in an a4, I am sure you COULD do it, but you would first have to get ahold of some s4 engine and then you would have to spend all kinds of money with the conversion. It would be more worth it to just buy an s4, you could probably find a 2001 s4 for about 25,000. That would probably be cheaper than trying to do a conversion on a a4.
You can easily get the 1.8T engine up to over 250 hp and torque up to over 300lb/ft without any internal mods though, that should be plenty.

if you want an s4 engine...get an s4.. that's really not const feasible..

as far as quattro...quattro is audi's all wheel drive system..

Well I would buy, sounds sweet. And yea dont do the swap, the 1.8T is a great motor to mod. Doing the S4 swap would be to much money.
