my sexy red prelude got hurt today :(
i was street racing, a guy nudged me from behind, i lost control and hit a tractor trailer going in the opposite direction.
j/k...at least she would've died with pride.
instead... some fucker jumped infront of me as i made a left turn onto a major street. it was a freaking 2003 explorer. anyways, i got stuck with the ticket cuz i had a stop sign and it is negligible that he did not yield to me even though i was already on the street and that he was speeding.
anyways, my baby now needs a facelift, the bumper is trailing on almost on the ground, the driver side of the nose (from the wheel up) is caved in and my headlight is shattered. my fender is contorted, the steel underframe of the bumper is twisted. the @$$ only suffered a flat tire (which i have to pay for!). anyways, now i get to spend my excess scholarship money on the insurance deductible. :angryfire:
anyways..finally...my question...how much does insurance usually go up after your at fault for an accident?

What is this, your second accident in a month??? You lost control and hit some trees before, right? Why don't you try and take it easy out on the roads. Be a little more cautious. Here's some advise my Father gave me:
There are places to speed and there are places to not speed. Mind yourself and your situation. Control your car.
I'm not trying to flame you, but be a little more carefull out there, man!

i flamed myself. the sad thing is, that i was being cautious. the guy launched off the major street while i was already half way on. i wasn't being reckless. in fact, i reacted so fast i was able to throw it into second and stall the car while slamming the brakes at the same time before the collision. problem is that the other guy didn't stop.
i admit i was driving stupid on that first incident. but this time i was being completely tranquil. funny thing is...i NEVER had an accident my van. 1 month with this one, and i slammed into some trees (completely my fault for being stupid) and now this (not my fault!!! not being stupid!! :angryfire:) i think maybe the car has bad karma, or god doesn't like me.
my baby will be even better than before the crash though cuz the bumper was destroyed this time so the tiny amount of damage from the tree will be gone. also, i'm having the dealer fix it, so it'll be like new, and since my dealer is an affiliate of State Farm (my insurance company), it'll be processed faster since i don't have to wait for an adjuster.
PS: I WASN'T SPEEDING THIS TIME AND I DIDN'T TAKE THE STOP SIGN!! I WAS THERE FOR 5 MINUTES (thats how bad traffic was). sorry...just can't stand the fact that i got blamed for this shit.

expect at least a 400$ yearly jump in insurance for 2 years. maybe more because it involved someone else and not just you
