7th generation Corollas are not biult for speed at all. I know you are a newb to tuning and stuff, but first try learning about how a car works, then you will see how to make a car go faster. If you are looking to just go out and spend some money and add 10 hp, then thats fine but it wont go too far. I also have a 97 Corolla, and there arent that many performance products for our car. I suggest getting a new intake, since i doubt you can make it, just buy one off ebay, but make sure it is a good one. Then stick a K&N filter on the end. After than you can put headers and muffler on it, and small small other things but other than that there isnt much speed-wise you can do. I suggest saving your $$$$ untill you get a car that actually goes fast, if that is what you are looking for.
