I bought new rear ceramic pads for my 03 Maxima. I cannot get the piston compressed enough to fit over the new pads. I'm guessing the emergency brake system has something to do with this. Help!

having the same problem...feel kinda dumb getting thru it without the manual...did you ever find the solution...hit me back or email me with some help...stocks wont last too much longer...look like they might screw in or let the bleeder out to release the pressure. I wont touch em till i'm sure.

hey whats up...try opening the master cylinder under the hood where you put brake fluid in..then try it and make sure your e-brake is down.

I found the solution shortly after posting the original message. The piston is actually threaded and it screws in/out of the caliper. Theres a special tool you can use, but I simply used a pair of needle nose pliers. There's notches in the piston so it's fairly easy to do.
