I've got a 93 accord that I'm sticking an h22a into. The big problem is the h22a is going to be pushing around 500-600whp to begin with. I'm having a hard time finding an axle that can hold this much. Driveshaft shop sells them for civic and integras that can hold 500+hp, but I haven't found anyone that sells a set for the prelude. I could have them made but that's like 2,500.00. Does anyone know of some place that makes them or if somehow a civic or integra shaft will work? This car is for full track so I'm gonna be launching hopefully at around 5k rpms so the axles are gonna take a pounding.

they have them now. Call and ask for Frank specifically. I just ordered my monsters last week. They will have to be mfr'd, but that only takes a day.

we use pep boy specials!!!! lifetime warranty and it is better to replace axles than the tranny!!!! if you equip your car with line locks and lock the rear tires, sit at the line with the clutch partially engauged. we set the two step up to come on and go off with the line locks. by launching "preloaded" it gained us close to 5 tenths and we stopped breaking axels. just some ideas for you

So you're saying that I should use the stock spec driveshafts for a car pushing over 500 hp to the wheels and just replace them when they twist like a pretzel? I think I'd rather spend 1,500.00 on a set of good axles that will take whatever I throw at them. I'm not worried about the tranny itself. Also, it's not a manual, it's an auto so I'll be able to spool up at the line or preload like you say.

yeeeah, I just got the ones that are good up to 450whp, "stage 2" I think, not the ones with the hubsets. As far as oem spec, I've known guys with just an H swap and i/h/e and some tuning that have torn the splines right off.

Those are for a prelude correct? I hope they have a set or can make a set of 500whp+.

yeah, and I believe the next step up from 450 is 600 then 1000whp.

Thanks, that wasn't on there the last time I checked. The only thing that sucks is when I click on a link on that page, it comes up with a page cannot be displayed. Does it have the prices for 600whp on there catalog?

no man, i am not saying to do that, haha just telling an informative story. sometimes we find ways to beat the system. haha we have used those axels effectivley up to 400hp atw! for your application try the driveshaft shop or place racing or hasport.
good luck!
