Civic SI distributors

What is different about the Civic SI distributors (multi-point systems) from the regualr Civic? I just got an ECU for an SI, either it doesn't like my crank angle sensor or it is broken and my current ECU doesn't see it. If they are different -- anyone have one for purchase/trade? I am puting in multi-point and I have the SI ECU, wiring harness will be here today. Recommendations or Ideas?
