It would help if you gave us some information regarding your issue. It's difficult to understand what you mean. Mod chip? ECU? Ruffles? Lays? Gotta be more specific on your question if you want any kind of useful answer.

Chips are the biggest waste of money and some will even do damage to your car. Don't buy one, take the money you were going to spend on the chip and buy something usefull.

:nono: get a hondata instead of a chip but not till you do some serious mods and need tuning like cams, pistons etc..
most of what a chip does to your car is advance the timing and enrichen your fuel mixture = not worth it in stock car
EDIT: do not buy those ebay chips claiming 20+hp they are only one little resistor that you can get at radio shack and it will hurt your engine instead of helping it ...how it works it conects in your map sensor and baisicly is telling the ecu that the air coming into the engine is colder than it actually is and the ecu will agian enrichen the fuel mixture which in the longterm = bad b/c you'll get a lot of carbon build up in it and it also advances your timing = bad(again) which it can cause pining and i hope you know what happens to your engine
