WHOA!! OK, now I have to been looking for Z28/Trans Am to buy. And I recently have been looking at the MKIII's. Because newer ones are soo expensive and rare. I would even get a N/A one if it was cheap. But back to mkIII, they beat the F-Body in everything except performance. Cheap , Looks (tie), Insurance, Reliable, Speed(??). But then I saw on this web site that they pull 15.2 on an 89 Turbo, and 15.6 on a 91 turbo??!?! WTF?!? My probe got 15.547 with intake, and nittos. Now I always though that an mkIII would kill my probe, essp. turbo. I can't believe this, please someone tell me that I am completely insane on those stats. If not I'll have to continue my search for heavy, expensive, but powerful F-Body's :disappoin :banghead:  :screwy:

You've got alot to learn if you think those stock numbers mean anything, and comparing the MKIII to a probe... tisk tisk. 89-91 were exactly the same with the exception of a few lb's added and a few hp added, different numbers mean different drivers.

Great...so what your saying is a little mods go a long way on this car, even simple bolt on mods...
and comparing the MKIII to a probe... tisk tisk..
WHOA WHOA WHOA! That is NOT what happened. I was just giving you people insight on why I was so dissappointed. No S**T you don't compare them. That's what was tearing me up, the straight line acceleration of both cars were about even. I was not comparing the cars, just the 1/4 times of my Anal Probe (may he rest in peace) and the Supra I might get. It just shocked me...

Which had less weight and more power, or are they all mix-matched?
Thanks for replying and I would really appreciate if you could touch on that first quote above, I'm interested in that...Cause you can do madd ish to an F-Body and not see much difference, given it's weight and difficulty to launch those cars. :smokin:

Well theres alot you can do, shim out the WG, IC hardpipes, IC upgrade, upgraded ct-26's, lex/550's, high flowing turbo elbows, full 3" exhausts, new manifolds and bigger turbo's, I've covered all this a few times here for sure. There were only small weight changes between the years, you would feel more of a differance if you dropped a load before driving. The only big one is the targa, they say it adds 300lbs but I don't care, taking it off makes it all worth it. So just pic any one in the best condition, all the turbo's have the same potential so it really doesn't matter.

shim out the WG,
I don't understand. What is shimming out the wastegate?
upgraded ct-26's,
and bigger turbo's,
I'm guessing the ct-26's are the turbos, but I think they contradict each other, unless bigger turbo's are upgraded ct-26's. Please explain...
lex/550's,
I have absolutely no clue what that is...
I feel stupid after reading your post... :lol2:

Shimming the WG means buying a pack of 1mm washers from anywhere and shimming the WG out, 1 washer shim is roughly 11hp. Pretty good bang for the buck since there only 5 cents a pack. You could go 2 routes after deciding you need a bigger turbo, you could upgrade the CT-26 to a 57-1 or a 60-1 trim or buy a SP61gt, or you could just buy a aftermarket one like a to4 or SP turbo. Lex/550 is another upgrade after upping the boost to a point where stock fuel isn't safe anymore. You use a Lexus AFM housing (flows 25% more than the stocker with the same signal) and 550 injectors (25% larger than stockers) with only minor tuning from a S-AFC or other air/fuel controller.
