How is the driveability with 4.10's? I here they really screw up gas mileage and overall driveability. Also hows the top speed turnout?

Your top speed should be somewhere around 110mph. Drivability shouldn't be too bad in the city but on high ways you will be revving 3500-4000 rpm.

Top speed should be more then 110 mph, espically since I'm assuming he has a 01 cobra. Those 4 valves like the higher rpms, so 4.10's would be a nice addition. Even in my 89 with 3.73's, I still am able to reach 125 mph (no balls to push higher) or so without taching out.

At 70 MPH with 4.10's in 5th gear he'll be pulling around 2400 RPM's. I have no idea what the car would top out at, you'd have to find out for yourself.

2400RPM??? Where did you get that from?

I used that, lots of good calculators there. That sounds more like the stock 2.73's to me, hehe.

No, boosted is just about dead on with those #'s. According to the analyzer over at Mustang Works, with stock T5 gear ratio's and 4.10's out back, he will redline somewhere around 160-170 mph in 5th gear.

What you failed to read is that the caculations you are using is in the 1:1 gear ratio. When youre in the highway youre in O/D not 1:1, which would be fourth in his Cobra. :)

i too am interested in what 3.90s are like, and if ford makes gears in this ratio. otherwise, where is a good place for gears?

Get Richmond gears. They have 3.73 3.90 and 4.10's for fords.
