This my first post and I want to thank all who have replied to even the older posts. These helped me solve a problem much sooner than expected. I resently solved a problem with our 96 Tahoe that developed a hard start than a no start when cold. Most replies I read were to replace the fuel pump and that did it. It's a 3 to 4 hour job that cost $120 in parts and $50 for a helper. We used an after market pump with a new inlet screen. Also before I started this job I did the pressure check and had about 58 psi, that's too low. Once I cranked the engine it dropped to 50, not enough. If you have ever ran out of gas with one of these in-tank pumps like my wife has done you have more than likely have weeken or burnt it up. If you decide to do this yourself and are skilled, do the after market unit, otherwise use the complete assymbly from the dealer. And before you do anything replace your inline fuel filter!
